The first professional hides in the Camargue
Designed and built by me after years of field observation. Each hide is positioned with precision according to light, wind and habitat, with one-way, non-reflective glass for stable, comfortable and discreet working conditions.
How the hides work
Fixed hides and floating hides
Season: March to July. Languages: English, German, French.
Floating hides
Low-angle photography at water level. Stable, lightweight and easy to handle in calm conditions.
- Basic fitness and balance needed
- Waders available on site, your own recommended
- You bring camera gear, tripod head and a dry bag
- Safety briefing provided
- Morning and evening sessions of about 4–5 hours
- Only in safe water and weather conditions
- Subjects: stilts, avocets, ibises, herons, terns and other wading birds at close range
Fixed hides
Permanent structures with stable conditions, eye-level perspectives and longer sessions in comfort.
- Car access with a short walk
- Room for up to three photographers
- You bring tripod and tripod head
- Camera bags stored inside, seating provided
- Morning and evening sessions of about 4–5 hours, with rest in between
- One-way, non-reflective glass; insulated and well ventilated
