About me

My name is Alexandra Martinez. I am a wildlife and equine photographer based in the Camargue in southern France.

My connection to animals and photography began early in my childhood. I grew up in the Eifel region of Germany, surrounded by forests, fields and many animals. Living close to nature taught me patience, respect and quiet observation.

Several years ago I came to the Camargue for the first time. The landscape immediately fascinated me – the unique light, the silence of the wetlands, the white Camargue horses and the extraordinary birdlife.

Since then the Camargue has become both my home and the center of my photographic work.

Alongside equine photography, I created Camargue Photo Hides by Alexandra Martinez. The project gives photographers access to private wetlands and carefully selected locations that allow authentic wildlife photography in a calm and respectful environment.

My approach is simple: respect the rhythm of nature and allow each image to develop through patience, light and observation.

In addition to photography, I have trained as a hunter and falconer. These experiences help me better understand the behaviour and movement patterns of wildlife, particularly birds of prey, and deepen my connection to the natural environment in which I work.

I feel fortunate to live and work in this landscape and to share it with photographers who come here to experience the wildlife of the Camargue.

Since 2024 I have been an official ambassador for Mr.JanGear, a European brand producing professional equipment for wildlife photographers.

I look forward to welcoming you to the Camargue.
